Florida American Legion Boys State

Florida Boys State is a program of The American Legion Department of Florida, veterans who have served in war and now do their part for the sake of peace. Patriotism is a cornerstone of the Boys State Way, and we reflect The American Legion values of liberty, justice and equality - for God and country.

Florida's Premier Youth Leadership Program

At Florida American Legion Boys State delegates form cities, counties, and three branches of state government. They form political parties and hold elections - everything from city councilmen to a Boys State Governor.

Florida American Legion Boys State

With a little instruction in hand, Boys State delegates take charge of the State Capitol and the actual chambers of the House, Senate, Supreme Court and Cabinet. They write bills and debate them.

Through the years, thousands of young men have participated in Florida Boys State. Hundreds have gone on to serve in the Legislature, courtrooms, in corporate boardrooms, and even in the Governor’s Mansion.

Through local and state government exercises, they learn by doing.
